Air Level System advantages Vs other systems
Limitations of standard airbags with valves:
Manual height measurement height will change as weight increases or decreases (full tank of fuel, passengers, load / trailer caravans etc.) Stability and ride comfort will also vary. A compressor is required for adjustment through Schrader valves on the rear of the vehicle. A compressor is required at a service station / home, or a portable compressor. Adjustment is via pressure not height or level.
Limitations of an In-cab kit:
Although convenient as you can add or remove pressure as required using a pressure gauge, consistent height and level control are very hard to achieve. This is due to changing weight and load. Left and right sides have to be adjusted independently and pressure alone is not an accurate way to attain level / height.
Limitations of mechanical auto air level control:
Although mechanical lever valve operation is simple, there is no tolerance or sensitivity control for varying road / track or load conditions. Bumpy / rough roads will cause the compressor to activate frequently as the system tries to compensate. A common compromise is to turn the compressor off, or to add a tank to the system which is just a bandaid and and is counterintuitive to the operation. Manual and or temporary height adjustment is not possible. Some systems have to have a dump valve on the exhaust outlet to stop leakage. Setup is often finicky due to the mechanical valve pushrod system.
Articulation is Not Possible without addition switches or buttons.
Advantages of the microprocessor controlled Air level System:
Maintains set height / level during all driving conditions. The system is simple to operate from within the vehicle with Inteli-Controller knob. Adjustable tolerance for rough / normal road conditions and for load / no load driving. Algorithms determine vehicle movement and travel, adjusting the height and level as required whilst minimising the use of the compressor therefore a tank is not required.
Temporary height / level adjustment via an ‘Articulation’ mode with manual pressure adjustment. Add pressure if required to drive the wheel down for better traction. Allows maximum wheel lift, extension, travel and tuck, while keeping the vehicle level as possible.
Additional functions such as Air compressor mode (for inflation of tyres etc.). Software upgradable.
